Besides being a loving housewife and mother, she assisted her husband, Harley, in the family business, Shockey's Service and Supply for many years. Surviving are 3 sons, Lesley Shockey and his wife Naomi, Sandyville; David Shockey and his wife Glenda, Sandyville; and Gene Shockey and his wife Rhonda, Ravenswood; brother, Vairl C. "Jack" Spears and his wife Louella, Sandyville; 4 grandsons, Michael Shockey, Keith Shockey, Charles Shockey, and Steven Shockey; 4 granddaughters, Teresa Kessell, Kimberly Crist, Lois Clendenin, and Melissa Smith; 7 great grandsons, and 5 great granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; daughter, Patricia; and sisters, Emma Kibble and Vera Murray. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, with Reverend Steven Rhoades officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. We do not meet with Mr. Roush at the funeral home until tomorrow morning but tentative plans are visitation on Tuesday evening and services on Wednesday. Roush Funeral home normally offers a place where friends may express condolences to the family at [email protected] Of course if any of you want to write directly to me, that will be find. It may be a few days before I respond. My abdominal aorta aneurysm surgery is scheduled for next Monday morning, January 24th.
