Hi all, Mom and Dad moved to Akron....dad went to work for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. They remained living here for the rest of their lives, and are buried in the 'Greenlawn Cemetery' on Romig Road, as are the rest of the family, in the family plot, except for my brother Kenneth, he is buried at a cemetery in Wadsworth, OH...which is not very far from Akron, actually west of Akron......My sister, Imogene and I will be buried in North Canton at Sunset Hills, right next to the I-77 Highway....I also know that my oldest sister, Geraldine, is buried there in WV, in a cemetery,on the Ripley, Ravenswood Highway, in an unmarked grave, beside my mother's mom and dad.....my sister Imogene has most all the family pictures. I plan to visit her this summer and am planning to copy all the pictures, and will send them on to all of you...she lives in KY, and she is older than I am.....that's probably how she got all the pictures....ha, ha...The Salser's remaining in Ravenswood are all related on mom's side of the family... Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Donna Faye Waggoner Gorrell, Sandyville; son, Larry Allen Gorrell and his wife Sally Ann, Ripley, WV; daughter, Robin Louise Conley and her husband Scott, Sandyville; grandson, Cody Bare; step-granddaughter, Megan Conley; 4 brothers, Bob Gorrell, Akron, OH; Jack Gorrell, Silverton, WV; Jim Gorrell, Ravenswood; and Hal Gorrell, Tallmadge, OH; 3 sisters, Dorothy Cole, Ripley; Margaret Shaw, Canton, OH; and Olive Yohey, Tallmadge, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joe. Services were held on Thursday, April 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Pastor Steve Rhoades officiating. Burial followed in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Friends visited the funeral home on Wednesday, April 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ravenswood, Cottageville and Silverton Fire Departments. He was the recipient of 3 bronze stars. Surviving is his sister, Mrs. Ann Boso, Portland, OH; and special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray, Rex, Herbert, Ted and Jim Patterson; and sisters, Susie Leep, Pauline Evans, Adah Gorrell, Lucy Rexroat, and Azelline Smith. I posted on another site and someone posted back to me but their email didn't work. I have some sibling info and that is all. I do have info on his wife Charity's family. (Rhodes) Daniel and Charity had a home in Ripley in Jackson Co. I have Daniel's picture in his Union uniform as well with a note to my ancester Nancy Ellen (Nellie) on it.
