Where he was born and who were his parents is not know. Alpheus was married on 4/19/1809 in Fairfield Co to Elizabeth Lloyd who was born on September 16, 1789, also in Pennsylvania. They are first noted as living in Fairfield County, Ohio in the 1820.census. They settled in Fairfield county close to the Pickaway county line. Alpheus was a member of Captain David List company, out of Franklin county between July 28, 1813 and September 6, 1813. I believe your James M. Hughes is James Madison Hughes, the son of Jesse David Hughes Jr. and Susanna Mock. Jesse Jr. is the son of the famous Inidan Scout Jesse Hughes and his wife Grace Tanner. Jesse and Grace were 3rd g grandparents. I am not totally sure of this since James is not on my direct line. I would suggest posting your query on the Hughes mailing list. I'm searching for ancestors of William D. Cunningham, b. 8/13/1802 in Pendleton County and d. 10/25/1915 in Kenna. He was married to Sarah Fowler and was the father of Harrison D. Hi, I have a picture of my grandfather taken in Harrison County aound 1915 when he was a teenager. The back of the picture says the girl in the picture is Emma Woods. She appears to be about 13 or 14. I'm curious who she is. Anyone recognize the name? Madeline
