Surnames: Sayre, Timberlake Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WCC.2ACE/4198.1.1 Message Board Post: How could Hiram be Ezekiel's son? Ezekiel died in 1835. Hannah married a Timberlake in 1839. Yet traditional historians in the past have said--Yes, Hiram was a Sayre. What happened to Timberlake? Now, there are some very interesting stories out there about that! A well-known educator in this area said there were rumors that he was Native American and that he was killed and put in a well in the rural Arbuckle area. Anyone know this story?

That site indicates his life spanned 1842 to 1910, spouse was Anne Francis Hayes. He was buried in Sayre cemetery, Union District, Mason Co., wv. Hiram's father was Ezekial Sayre who married Hannah Gilman. Ezekial"s father was David Sayre born 1762 in New Jersey married to Sarah Little. It appears that Mark G. Sayre was Hiram's older brother born 1830. If you have trouble finding same, I'm at 715- 344- 6036 in WI. Or i can mail a printout. I'd bet money on the guess that you're from Cottageville or Mudsock area.
