Betty, any and all your sites are wonderful and I have so enjoyed working with you at times. Hope you have a grand summer with the kids as I know I am. Also a great big THANK YOU for helping to keep genealogy free. For the general information of anyone who visits either of my websites, they are not a part of any other website, they are owned and operated by me. They are a place for me to share the genealogy research I have compiled over the last 30+ years. The original Jackson County Pioneer Project has become too difficult to update very often, simply because it has grown to over 42,000 people, and that takes a lot of upload time, so I started the West Virginia Pioneers site which is much easier to update and navigate, but still takes time. The majority of the work is my own, with additions and corrections from far too many people to list, but in general, they are listed as the source of data they have furnished me. I work with some wonderful researchers, including JoAnn, on our common families. I get mail on a daily basis from people, giving me additional info or asking me to help them, in addition to the requests for lookups generated by my being listed as a Jackson Co lookup volunteer. Some days it doesn't leave me any time to do any of 'my' research. And since I am a grandma, a large part of my time, especially in the summer, is spent with my grandkids, and yes, we even take vacations (just back from the beach!!!), so the email piles up and sometimes, doesn't even get answered because it gets lost. I enjoy helping people find their ancestors and it's an added bonus when they happen to be someone who I already have in my database. I especially love to hear from Casto, Parsons, Randolph and Rhodes researchers. If you don't get a reply, try me again. Just keep in mind that I might just be back in Jackson County, trying to find someone. Thanks, Sandy. It's such a pleasure to work with people like you. We're having a great time! We went to San Diego last week - hit the beach, the Mission Bay park for playground and picnic, Zoo, lighthouse, and a 2 hour harbor cruise - and Phillip managed to not fall overboard!!! :) Since when is genealogy free???????? Lor-dee, do you know how much money I spend on it??? ;-) And it's worth every penny. I'm just glad that someone else can benefit from what I have and what I find. I'd hate to have it all die with me. When my father and I first went there in 1984, he was able to put us in touch with many distant Bibbee, Parsons, Blake and Coe cousins and found numerous records that were very important in our search for Jackson County ancestors. I have never met anyone who was more dedicated to helping others. All of this inspite of the fact that he was confined to a wheel chair.

(Billy) Fields. On May 29 at St. Albans, WV, I attended a 'descendents of my Grandfather Amster Lee Fields Reunion', more than 75 adults attended. My interest in Betty's Pioneer Site came from that Reunion as several discussion on the Fields Contents were the subject and those interested wanted to know about what recordings can be accepted and how some incorrect entries can be corrected. My Grandfather's name has been viewed on the National Census as Amster Lee/A.L./Lee and as Amsterne. My father's name was Lonnie Davis Cooper and on the 1930 Boone County, WV National Census his first name was spelled as LONNY and not Lonnie, that was a Census Taker error as my father could spell.

A lot of her data comes from census Records, marriage and death records, which we know have lots of names that are misspelled. She is a very busy lady, try e:mailing her again. I bought mine back in the mid-80's at the public library in Ripley. Back then when Dewitt Williams was running the West Virginia Room at the library he would make a copy for you, at about 10 cents a page. Since I haven't been back to WV since 1998, I have no info on current address.
