My 2nd great grandfather,Richard Alexander Grinstead(1865-1948)parent's were John J. Grinstead and Francis Curry(1836-1890). Francis' parents were Mary Hill and St. Clair Curry(1810- ).St. Clair Curry was the son of James Curry(1777-1844) and Mary Brooking. James' father was Samuel Curry(cir 1734-1808). It goes on and on. Thanks for the websites. I have been to the WV Cemetery Preservation,but didn't know about the others.I'll check them out! I've been researching for nearly 25 years on various families.I get interested in one and then move on until I get bored. It's an obsession,but I could have worse vices,right? Mary Masters and they had at least one child, Richard. He m. Elizabeth Meredith and they had at least two children, John W., b. 1843 & Phebe "Phoebe" b. March 01, 1845 and d. January 02, 1920. She m. John William Conner, b. May 24, 1843 and d. May 05, 1928. I have they are both buried at the Union Methodist Church Cemetery, Wirt County, WV. I have they had nine children, one being Etta "Ettie" Jane Conner who married William "Willie" Henry Lincicome and they are buried at Red Brush Cemetery. This is the line that my family comes from but I have more on the other eight children.

Ezekial and Marie Lavinia Price. Then plugged Ezekial into ROOTSWEB........item 3 of 5 listed had a pedigree for him listing ancestors back about 4 generations thru New Jersey back to Ireland in 1715. It's on Meathouse Fork road about one half mile on the left. Little Sandy road runs east out of Sherman. Meathouse should be about the third side road on the left, the first being Road Fork and the second being Clay Lick. In the early 1950's I was a neighbor to Harry "Pap" Rolliff and legend had it that there was a lost cemetery near or on his farm but I think it was the lost grave of the famous Jesse Hughes or some of the early Proctors. Independence Church has 18 Curry burials and 29 spelled Currey. Maddox cem. 3 miles north has 1 Curry and 7 Currey Morgan-Pleasant Hill has 4 Curry and Mount Hope has 2 Curry. You can find these on a site WV CEMETERY PRESERVATION. Also on the Jackson Co. gen page, where you posted your query see the third item WV DIV OF CULTURE AND HISTORY you can plug in Curry and Jackson Co. and get 9 death certificates to download which provide parents names and burial locations. My Mom was from that immediate area and I have plenty of relatives still there. But hey it's Jackson Co. ....we're all related. I just didn't know it til I got into gen a few years ago. If you know about these sites please forgive my enthusiasm. Like most people I've found some astonishing info about my ancestors and couldn't stand it if someone m! issed out on something. If you don't mind describing your Curry connection I could do a little more searching. Before I forget, the county gen page under Jackson co. pioneers, then subsite SURNAMES has info on 60 Currys. I'm not sure if you actually found it's location or not. About halfway between Meadowdale and the Meadowdale Church there is a dirt road which goes to the south called Big Lick. At the point where this road leaves the paved road go about one tenth mile east on the main road. The Curry Cemetery appears to be then about one tenth of a mile north of the paved road up a hill . There does not appear to be a lane or road into it. It should be a tad west of the old Meadowdale school which stands right alongside the paved road on the north side. My Aunt Pauline lives right there but she's 94 now and probably won't hear the knock so ask the first house west of the Meadowdale school. I checked all the lists I could think of but am sorry that I could not find an inventory for the Curry. People there certainly appreciate family and genealogy so don't be concerned about stopping and asking for a little directional ! help. I have a feeling this is not an active cemetery. We were in Jackson County this past weekend and we found the Meadowdale cemetery,but not the Curry cemetery. When we got home,we saw that we were too far east of Meadowdale for the Curry cemetery. Does anyone have the names of those buried in the Curry cemetery?I'd love photos if anyone has those,too! I am assuming it is no longer used for current burials. Any help is appreciated!!!
