I am searching for any information about James Johnson/Johnston and family who lived near Morgantown (Monongahela River and Wests Run) during the years of abt 1770-1796. James Johnston married Catherine(Caty) See abt 1772. Their children were George, Valentine, Nancy (Ann), Catherine, Amelia and James Johnston, Jr. ( Nancy Johnson/Johnston married William Robinson, Jr. in 1796 in Monongalia Co.) James Johnson/Johnston owned land and lent out money to individuals. He was educated and may have held a public County office of some kind. Any information you may find is appreciated.
