    3. Dee, I'm not sure you are doing anything wrong. When I print up a report, I always get the earlier ancestors in brackets next to the primary individual. It doesn't appear that you have a choice of whomever you don't want to appear. I've been using FTM for abt 4 years. The only way I would know around it, would be to use an Ancestor ordered report. 3. It makes sense, Becky, that Elizabeth McGary would be the second wife. Eliza Plant would have been abt 14 when she married which isn't unusual for WV marriages. Altho I couldn't find her death record, I think she is probably the one in the 1850 Census because of her age. In the 1880 Census, a Matilda Laughry is listed as living with William Plant; she is 15y and a servant, and I couldn't find Hirum at all in Harrison Co nor Doddridge. 3. Hi Becky, I checked the 1850 Census which is the earliest one I have and there were 2 Plant families and no McGarys. So then I checked the HC death book. The only Laughery listed as dying in 1865 was Emily, age 35 yrs, died 9/3/1865, parents are listed as Samuel and C Maria Cottrill. These are the rest of the deaths listed in the HC book Loughry, Susan 4/31?/ 1875 32y w/o William E Lauchrey, Every 1/5/1886 age 2y parent: E D Lochrey, John 11/11/1886 age 1y parent: John Louchery, Lucy V 8/20/1890 age 16y D C and Mary C Loughy, Lloyd May 1890 age 24y h/o Mary V Loughy Louchery, Robert 11/15/1898 26y6m10d parents: J and H born 5/15/1870 Laughery, Mary 5/8/1880 60y d/o Patrick & Cisely Hyland; w/o John Loughery, George H 12/23/1864 35y no parents/spouse listed Loughrey, William 6/15.1895 age 97y no parents/spouse listed These were the only ones in the HC death book which runs from 1853-1903. 3. Hi list again, I found this among some files that I had. This lists Elizabeth McGary as Hiram's first wife and Elizabeth Plant as his second. I don't know if these dates fit or not. If he married Elzabeth McGary in 1827 she would be only 7 yrs. old. if born in 1813. Perhaps Elizabeth Plant was the first wife and McGary the second. It makes sense since this looks like his children were all by Elizabeth Plant. 4 Hiram Laughery Sr. 1803 - Aft. 1870 b: 1803 in Harrison County, West Virginia d: Aft. 1870 .................. +Elizabeth "Betsy" (Collins) Mc Gary 1820 - Aft. 1870 b: 1820 in Harrison County, West Virginia d: Aft. 1870 ............. *2nd Wife of Hiram Laughery Sr.: .................. +Elizabeth Plant Abt. 1813 - Bef. 1865 b: Abt. 1813 in Harrison County, West Virginia d: Bef. 1865 ................... 5 Harriet Laughery 1832 - b: 1832 in Harrison County, West Virginia ....................... +W Gain ........................ 6 Elizabeth J Laughery Abt. 1852 - b: Abt. 1852 in Harrison County, West Virginia ............................ +William M Stier 1842 - b: October 28, 1842 in Harrison County, West Virginia ............................. 7 Lillie Stiers 1875 - 1946 b: 1875 d: 1946 in buried in Coplin Cemetery Methodist, Wolf Summit WV .................................. +Ziba Newton Matheny 1868 - 1951 b: March 21, 1868 in Harrison County, West Virginia d: 1951 in buried in Coplin Cemetery Methodist, Wolf Summit WV ................... 5 George Laughery Abt. 1827 - Abt. 1865 b: Abt. 1827 in Harrison County, West Virginia d: Abt. 1865 ....................... +Elizabeth Gain ........................ 6 William Norman Laughery 1854 - b: July 28, 1854 in Harrison County, West Virginia ................... 5 Granville Laughery Abt. 1828 - b: Abt. 1828 in Harrison County, West Virginia d: in Tyler Co, WV ....................... +Nancy E. 3. Hi, I was going by what was in the book "Jeremiah Loughry Family Genealogy Records from Ireland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Beyond" by Harold Jones and James Stephens The book has a note that Hiram's wife was Eliza Plant according to Dale Nestor's files but says nothing more. For some reason the authors of this book list Elizabeth McGary as his wife. The book says she was born 1813 Va and died Oct. 19, 1865. I will e-mail the author and find out about this. Were there other "Plants" or "McGary's in the area? Becky

    3. Paul, According to the Harrison Co marriage book, Hiram Laughery married Eliza Plant Feb 5 1827 in Harrison Co by Rev A C Holden. (source: Edited and Arranged by Earle H Morris, Marriage Records, Harrison Co., Virginia-(West) Virginia 1784-1850, Page 151.) In the 1850 Census, Hiram's wife is listed as age 37 which would make her birth year abt 1813 and in 1827 when she married, she would have only been abt 14; too young for a second marriage. Could you please give me the source for Hiram's marriage to Elizabeth McGary? I'm a tad confused right now. Thanks so much, Mariana ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Lucas <rlucas@neo.lrun.com> To: <WVHARRIS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 23, 2000 10:31 AM Subject: Re: [WVHARRIS] Swiger-Laughery Hello list, Granville Laughery was the son of Hiram Laughery/Loughry born 1800 Harrison co. Hiram was the son of Patrick Loughry b. abt. 1760 Pa. married Catherine Hickman, d/o Adam and Margaret Adams Hickman from Harrison co. Va. On the Harrison co. genweb page there is a biography of Daniel Carson Louchery. I believe he is related to my Patrick Loughry (the name has been spelled a variety of ways). Does anyone know how Daniel was related to Patrick. Patrick had a brother named Daniel who married a Mary Wickam in Winchester VA in 1790, but the Daniel from the Harrison county page is not that Daniel. Does anyone know of the connection?
