Dee, I'm not sure you are doing anything wrong. When I print up a report, I always get the earlier ancestors in brackets next to the primary individual. It doesn't appear that you have a choice of whomever you don't want to appear. I've been using FTM for abt 4 years. The only way I would know around it, would be to use an Ancestor ordered report. Hi Sandra, Actually, we were trying to figure out who Hirum Laughery married. I have Eliza Plant and Becky has Elizabeth McGary. According to my marriage book, Hirum married Eliza Plant February 05, 1827 but it is possible that she died and then he married Elizabeth McGary. Do you have any info on Eliza Plant? It makes sense, Becky, that Elizabeth McGary would be the second wife. Eliza Plant would have been abt 14 when she married which isn't unusual for WV marriages. Altho I couldn't find her death record, I think she is probably the one in the 1850 Census because of her age. In the 1880 Census, a Matilda Laughry is listed as living with William Plant; she is 15y and a servant, and I couldn't find Hirum at all in Harrison Co nor Doddridge. The only Laughery listed as dying in 1865 was Emily, age 35 yrs, died 9/3/1865, parents are listed as Samuel and C Maria Cottrill. Hi, I was going by what was in the book "Jeremiah Loughry Family Genealogy Records from Ireland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Beyond" by Harold Jones and James Stephens The book has a note that Hiram's wife was Eliza Plant according to Dale Nestor's files but says nothing more. For some reason the authors of this book list Elizabeth McGary as his wife. The book says she was born 1813 Va and died Oct. 19, 1865. I will e-mail the author and find out about this. Paul, According to the Harrison Co marriage book, Hiram Laughery married Eliza Plant Feb 5 1827 in Harrison Co by Rev A C Holden. (source: Edited and Arranged by Earle H Morris, Marriage Records, Harrison Co., Virginia-(West) Virginia 1784-1850, Page 151.) In the 1850 Census, Hiram's wife is listed as age 37 which would make her birth year abt 1813 and in 1827 when she married, she would have only been abt 14; too young for a second marriage.
