    3. Here is the page from Ancestry.com explaining abt the online Census and showing a sample. http://www.ancestry.com/home/celebrate/census.htm If this doesn't work, try http://www.ancestry.com and then click on the info concerning the Census. I'm assuming that anyone can check the sample, whether a member or not. It appears that, even with a current Ancestry.com subscription, there will be an extra "Census" subscription. Ancestry's scanned records are pretty good assuming the original handwriting was clear. I have been using the Civil War Pension Index. These are the actual scanned Pension cards kept by the National Archives. ----- Original Message ----- From: CID at KID'S CORNER <cathez@teleport.com> To: <WVHARRIS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 16, 2000 3:34 PM Subject: Re: [WVHARRIS] Ancesty-- all U.S. Census records Hi guys, I saw this last month and I checked a site out that had data on it. 3. The way I found out where my Grandmother was burried was from her Death Certificate it had Harrison County Infermery. If this is listed then that is where they where burried up the hill beside the 4-H center.( Tom Sears -director of the 4-H center know where this cemetery is at.) I know that there are about 100 graves at the County Infirmary Cemetery. There are only 2 stones there. The county did not keep up with where they burried each person. If it list poor Farm then they where burried behind the house at the PoorHome. I have been told that the Country Club Car dealership had these graves moved to the top of the hill on the road next to the paint shop. I have been there and seen them. There are about 30 graves up there. If you have people that are listed in the County Infirmary Cemetery please list them with my listing under Cemeterys please. I would like to try to get back to West Virginia next year to clean up this grave sight and get my grandmother a head stone. 2. While going through the 1880 census for Harrison County I found references to see A.W.Fittro for two family members. When looking at this reference it has AW Fittro as farmer and operator of poorhouse. It lists families with children in it.In the 1900 census for TenMile district has girls as young as 10 as inmates. This was for Salem Industrial home for Girls. I don't have the name of the lady listed as custodian but it has a long list of names. Ed Nutter

    3. There where 2 cemeterys the one right behind the poor house was moved to the top of the rich section. After 1932 they started burring them at the top of the hill beside the 4-H center . Basilly it is inbetween the County Club Car dealership and the 4-h center.
