Hi Betty, Are you able to look up Johnson's from a Braxton Co Cemetery? I have Johnson from Harrison Taylor COs in WV. I have a Peter born around 1770. His son Robert born 1795? He married a Lucy Ann Tate. You and I may have talked before about the Johnsons/Johnstons. There were also Carders and Keeners as spouses in these lines. Thanks, Sally Havens ChytownSal@aol.com
Jim, With so many Swigers and Harberts running around HC, you have probably heard from a bunch of their descendants. I am a Harbert descendant but not from the Bartlett line, altho I have the Bartletts in my files. I would be happy to share anything I have with you if you haven't already had a better offer from a direct descendant. I know how frustrating it can get sometimes. You aren't by any chance related to the John Heard Bartlett who married Elizabeth Plaisted June 15, 1788 (Maine), daughter of Hannah Wheelwright and Capt. Elisha Plaisted, are you? A while back I noticed a letter from Jackie in Michigan talking about Johnson's from Harrison Co... I would like to know who some of your family members were? I have Johnson/JOhnstons from that area also. A Robert born around 1795. His father Peter who was a sheriff in the area around 1820? Thanks, Sally Havens ChytownSal@aol.com

I may have missed something here, but I keep seeing references on this list to Berkeley Springs and Cherry Run which I believe are both in Morgan County (originally a part of Hampshire County and never a part of Harrison County). Someone may be looking in the wrong place. Judy
Hi Jackie The Harry Johnson I mentioned was my grandfather, he had a set of twin girls with a woman named Essie D Edgell Martin, this occurred after Essie husband left her. My mom and Aunt the twins were raised my a woman and her husband named Ashcraft and Harry sent money every month, my mom and aunt told me he died in a nursing home in Morgantown W.Va.. But I cannot find a death cert for him even it was in the 1950s that he died. Confusing story. Thanks If you ever find the grave yard I would like to know. Nancy
Do you mean Harrison Co.? I am a Davis researcher and SANDY, WELLS, PRICE, CUNNINGHAM, MOORE and on and on. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Jjjkan823@aol.com> To: <WVHARRIS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 20, 2000 6:41 PM Subject: Re: [WVHARRIS] Harrison County Deaths > Any....... > Sutton,,,,,Griffith,,,,,Haynes,,,,,McConnell......Hardy.....Davis.....Hyatt. .. > . > > My surnames from central WV. > > Thank You, > Judy in Ohio > > > ==== WVHARRIS Mailing List ==== > WVHarris-L-request@rootsweb.com Unsubscribe [in subject line] > WVHarris-D-request@rootsweb.com Unsubscirbe [in subject line] > > ============================== > Search ALL of RootsWeb's mailing lists in real time. > RootsWeb's Personalized Mailing Lists: > http://pml.rootsweb.com/ >
Betty, I know that my Great Grandparents were buried in the Johnson Cemetery, or so I was told. Their names are William Henry Harrison Johnson and Eliza Johnson. If these names are familiar please let me know. I believe that my GG Grandparents were also buried there, James Johnson and Sarah Johnson. Thanks again Jackie
Betty Where is this Cemetery located. Is it close to Berkeley Springs/Cherry Run? This is supposedly where my Great Grandparents were. Thanks Jackie
Nancy, I am not sure I just found out that there was a Johnson Family Farm that had a Cemetery that was somehow attached and that only Family Members were buried there. However, according to what I heard there were also non Family members buried there but that they were somehow accepted as Family. I am trying to find out if there was ever such a place and if so where is it located. I understand that my Great Grandparents were buried there and would like to find its location. The Harry Johnson that you mention is this a Family member. If so who were his parents or Grandparents? I am looking still for brothers of my Grandfather, John William Johnson. I know he had a brother named Keller, and I believe a George I would have to look again. Please let me know if these names are familiar in any way. If you know of this Farm/Cemetery or if you know of anyone able to locate please let me know. Thanks Jackie
The Johnson cemetery mentioned would there happen to be any Harry Johnson buried in the 1950s located there. Thanks in advance Nancy
