THis a letter from my cousin. I am posting it to the list since she isn't on the list. A few of you may know her so I am sorry if this is a duplicate. HI to all. I recently took a trip to Harrison co, W.Va, Culpeper Co, Va, Faquier Co Va, and Northumberland Co, Va seeking more information on Vincent Sandy, and I actually found quite a lot. STARTING FARTHEST BACK: THOMAS SANDY DIED MAY 1733 WESTMORELAND CO, VA. FIRST WIFE WAS WIDOW BROWN. CHILDREN: JOHN SANDY MARRIED MARY MURPHY 1760 HESTER SANDY AFTER THIS WIFE DIED, THOMAS REMARRIED ANN JOHN BROWN AND ANN SANDY WERE EXECUTORS OF ESTATE OF THOMAS, INVENTORY ONLY AVAILABLE. HOWEVER, JOHN BROWN PETITIONED THE COURT FOR CUSTODY OF THE TWO ABOVE CHILDREN SAYING THAT THE WIDOW WAS NOT ABLE TO EDUCTATE THEM PROPERLY. JOHN WAS TO BE A COOPER, HESTER TO LEARN TO SEW AND KNIT AND BOTH WERE TO LEARN PROPER ENGLISH. NOT PROVEN, BUT I SUSPECT THE CHILDREN OF HIS SECOND MARRIAGE WERE: URIAH SANDY B ABOUT 1726 WESTMORELAND CO. VINCENT SANDY B ABOUT 1728 WILLIAM SANDY B 1731 NANCY M. SANDY WHO DIED SEPTEMBER 1931, SAYS IN HER WILL SHE IS THE SISTER OF URIAH. 2ND GENERATION VINCENT SANDY B 1728 22 FEB 1742 APPRENTICED TO BE A CARPENTER WESTMORELAND CO,VA ORDER BOOK 1739-43 PAGE 185 DIED FAB 1759 WESTMORELAND CO, VA MARRIED JEMIMA MARMADUKE WHO DIED 1759 WESTMORELAND CO, VA' JEMIMA, CHRISTOPHER MARMADUKE (HER FATHER) AND DANIEL MARMADUKE BOND OF ADMINISTRATION, ORDER BOOK 1758-61, PAGE 48 JOHN ROBINSON APPOINTED GUARDIAN FOR INFANT ORPHANS OF VINCENT SANDY, CEC, 26 FEB 1760, WESTMORELAND CO, ORDER BOOK 1758-61, PAGE 105 CHILDREN OF VINCENT AND JEMIMA: THOMAS SANDY B 1759 WILLIAM SANDY VINCENT SANDY B. 1750-58 MARRIED MALINDA AMELIA ANN SANDY VINCENT SANDY B 1750-58 M. I ALSO HAVE MORE RECENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE VINCENT SANDY FAMILY WHO OWNED HAYFIELD IN NORTHUMBERLAND CO, AND SOME DESCENDANTS ARE PROBABLY STILL OUT THERE. I TALKED TO AN ATTORNEY WHO MARRIED INTO THE FAMILY AND HE SAID NO BODY KNEW ABOUT THE PAST OF THE FAMILY. AT ANY RATE, I AM PRETTY WELL CONVINCED I AM ON THE RIGHT TRACK. WHERE IT GOES FROM HERE WHO KNOWS. ANY AND ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOMED. HOPE THIS HELPS SOME OF YOU. SHARON IN N.C.
Would anyone know if cemetery records are available for an undertaker named Lynch Osborne? And if so, who I would contact about records for 1917? JoAnn Cupp Twain Harte, CA 95383
I'm searching for a Goff Robey, born sometime after 1869. Parents were Lloyd M and Nancy Martin Robey. They may have moved to Marion Co, WV and Goff may have married Henrietta Custer, daughter of Edward. Goff had at least 2 brothers: French Lazzell Robey and Carl Robey. Thanks very much. Help requested. Harrison County veterans site told me I was "forbidden" to access it. Is there another way to connect to it. I have a list of relatives. I also have a photo of an "Honor Roll" from my late father. Would like to confirm which it is. K. Sorry about the problem but I got the same results as you did earlier. I could work around the problem and get to it but everything on the internet for me this morning was very slow and I received several No connects from several different sites. I just checked the veterans site a few minutes and problem appears to have been eliminated. Let me know if the problem continues. Dick Wilt, Bridgeport, WV
I had no trouble when I checked out the site - it is really nice. Kathryn
I tried the site and it would not let me on. Say Connection Timed out and other suggestions Nancy

Looking for any information about Lyon family in Salem WV in late 1800's early 1900's and Eckard Family in Clarksburg WV same time period
Betty, Sorry about that. It must have been late and I was not awake. Thanks anyway. Sally
Mariana; You're one of the first to offer, and I accept. We, the Harrison Co BARTLETT descendants, are not related to any of the New England BARTLETTs, including Josiah, the Signer; the tree BARTLETTs; the pear BARTLETTs; or the Famous Quote folks - we are related to the BARTLETT Funeral Home folks and to Joe BARTLETT who was the senior Rep. staffer in the House of Representatives for many years, and of course my Dad who had a decorated 30-year career in the Navy after graduating from the Naval Academy in 1941 ;>j To my knowledge, none of the New England BARTLETTs came to VA, and we didn't go there - different cultures, different migration routes. I'd be happy to trade info off-line.
