    2. In the Marriage book: Brunswick Co.: pg. 96- 1771, Nov. 25, John Hicks & Ann Harrison, dau. of Bemjamin Harrison. Test: James Hicks & John Ballard Norfolk Co.: pg. 342 Joshua Wright & Lucretia Fry (age 26) Jan. 16, 1769 Dau. of Robert Fry Caroline Co. : pg 123 Nathaniel Young & Polley Eubank 12-24-1804- A broad (?) This is all I found in the books. In the pension book, There were some of the names but there was no information other than so and so recieved a Pension. For some reason the book does not cover l-z as well as a-k. The author said it is someting to do with the records themselves. In the Virginia book there is still a possibilty but I will have to see if we have more vol. Seems that so far most everything I wanted to look at is in 4. Suppose if I had it , I'd need 1. Sorry there isn't more. I will check at the library tghis week. Cathy D

    3. Hi Judy, I'm afraid I can't help you. I don't have any books on VA. I checked the Harrison Co WV marriage book and there was a Jacob N Myers who married Sophia Childers, daughter of Samuel, Feb 23 1825 but there are no parents listed for Jacob. In the 1850 Census for Harrison Co, WV, there are several Myers listed-- Jacob, age 29 with wife Barbary; George age 27 with wife Jane; and Isaac age 32. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell who the parents of the Myers men were. The Census before 1850 just listed the head of household and then a total of the male and female members of the household; no actual names. Probably, the only way to find that info is to track down Jacob Myers' Will. I'm really sorry. 1. [WVHARRIS] MEYERS
    2. Judy, Sorry it has taken so long but I got lost along the way with the kids and started looking for the wrong person. So I am leaving my first search at the bottom as it might help some one. So here goes again. Marriage under MYERS: There were no Jacobs but these are the ones they had. They maybe of some help. Norfolk Co.: All of the marriages were in Norfolk with the exception of one. Charles MYERS md. Ardilsey Humphries 8 June 1819 James MYERS md. Mary Creach 19 Nov. 1800 Thomas MEYERS md. Susannah Ives 12 Aug 1795 Richard MYERS md. Mary Ward 11 Sept 1798 Thomas MYERS md. Sarah Hayes 11 Feb 1804 Princess Ann Co.: Thomas MYERS md. widow of James Kelly (no date given) In the other books I couldn't find any thing under any spelling. The spellings I found were Miars,MYERS and MYARS. Out of all the spellings there was only one I found in Fredrick co. 1790 Census. As the head of household 1790 there was a Stephan MYERS. Maybe he could be connected to Jacob. sorry I have gone all the way around the barn but I hope there is something helpful. Sorry I couldn't find more. Cathy D In the Marriage book on pg. 538 in Records of Hustings Court, Richmond Va. there is a referance to Meyers as follows: Lesslie, Jno., & Mrs. Ann, widow of Lewis Meyers, 5 Feby. 1803. In the Virginians & West Virginians 1607-1870 there is a referance to Meyers on page 24 of Vol. 5. I don't know if we have those Vol. as our genealogical Society here is so small. It is kept in the library and is growing but not there yet. I will check to see if we have the other vol. In the 1812 book, there was no Meyer entries at all. Now, it bothered me there were no Meyers at all so I looked in the head of household 1790 census index. It is very hard to read and even though they tell you what page it is on, it is hard to read and then you have to find them. I found a Joshua "MIARS" in Norfolk Co. along with John and Daniel. So I went back and looked for this spelling. As follows: Marriage Book Marriage bonds of Norfolk Co. Joshua Miars and Elizabeth Deans, June 17, 1779 Still nothing in the other books. The other spelling you might check is Myer. There were several of those as heads of household also. BUT NOT ONE SINGLE MEYERS. HA!HA! Figures , huh? Also, under either spelling this is the only Joshua. I just realized that you are looking for Jacob MYERS not Joshua Meyers. Got lost some where but am leaving this anyway as it may help some one. So if you havegotten this far you already have revised lookup. HA!HA! Cathy D

    2. Not a problem. We don't have much in our library but I will try to do what I can when I can. If not for people like you and Marianna and others, I would not be where I am right now in my research. Also the one I just sent for a lookup answer is very long but left it antway as there might be omething in there that would help someone. Went downstairs looking up Joshua Meyers came up stairs and realized it was Jacob MYERS. Don't ask me. HA!HA! Was never very good at the telephone game either. 3. Hi Everyone, We now have more publications to offer look-ups from, thanks to Mariana! Please check out the look-up page on the Harrison Co WVGenWeb: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvharris When you make a request, please state the county and the publication. We have many volunteers who generously donate their resources and time to other counties, and this saves them unnecessary work. Also, please limit the amount of requests. These volunteers have offered only to look a record up, not to relay all information regarding a family. Thank you! Cathy Harrison Co Coordinator, WVGenWeb Harrison Co WV Archivist, USGenWeb
