Ray Sharps" <ardsharps@worldnet.att.net> To: Sandra <SandraG627@aol.com> Hi Sandra I am working on the Cunningham line and doing extracts from The History of Ritchie County by Minnie Kendall Lowther. I noticed that on Pages 50 thru 57 there is some data on a PETER WOLF and his arrival in Smithville area of Ritchie Co. from Harrison County. There is also some on the Malones on these same pages. I don't know if you have this covered or not. The book is on the internet at the Ritchie County Historical Society Rootsweb site. <http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvritchi/indexr.htm> Try <http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvritchi/MKL_HRC.htm> if you don't have the book. There may be other pages discussing the Wolf/Malone's but I don't have an index for this book. Alot of sharing goes on here, that's great.... I don't have my Harrison Co. books yet, just ordered them, but if I can look up any thing for anyone from Doddridge Co. will be more than happy. I guess, just email me, as they may not want to tie up Harrison Co. site with Doddridge stuff, don't know I'm new on this list. Perhaps someone can advise. Thank so much, Jan. I remember that I ran into this problem with an Ohio county which required money orders rather than personal checks, but I didn't know the exact amt. I bought the money order, mailed it but it was returned because I had sent too much. I just resent the money order and told them to take the Judge out for coffee. That seemed to work. Cathy, Thanks for trying, and yes I would be interested in the McDonald/McDaniel names if it's not too much trouble. Also Maulder or Mauller. Thanks again, John
David Wolfe b. abt. 1770, and died after 1830, married Mary Elizabeth (Unknown). 1. David Perry m. Elizabeth Ireland, dau. of Johnathon and Mary Tolar ( David & Eliz. had 9 children, I descend from A.E. the ninth child). 2. Catherine Wolfe m. Alexander K. Sleeth son of David W. and Catherine Carpenter-Sleeth. 3. Elizabeth Wolfe m. John Sleeth 4. Mary Wolfe m. Isaac Morris There maybe more children for David and Mary Elizabeth. in the Don Norman files, for the Sleeths, he has John and Annie Hoffman-Wolfe as the parents of Catherine, Minnie Lowther's book refers to Catherine and Elizabeth as being David's daughters and nieces to Peter...And I'm sure Hoffman fits in this family somewhere as David and Mary's first son is named David Perry, his first son is named Perry Hoffman Wolfe. Catherine sometimes used the spelling Woolf... Peter Wolf m. Magdalena Hanley 1. John J. Wolf m. Susan Deakon 2. Mary Wolf m. John Drennen 3. Peter Wolf 4. Abraham Wolf 5. Jacob Peter Wolf m. Phoebe Starkey 6.Samuel Wolf m. Mary Starkey, #2 m, Mary Harris, #3 m. Ruth Mitchell 7. Joseph Peter m. Jane Howard 8. Susanna Wolf m. James Malone 9. Elizabeth Wolf m. John R, Cunningham #2 husband after 1850 John Wolfe b. abt. 1755 wife #1 unknown, #2 Mary Elizabeth Rice-Ireland. The Info on David most of that I have confirmed.... I have not confirmed any of the info on Peter, the above came from a ged com file at ancestry.com. In the process of confirming info on John... If anyone would like to add or take away from this, I would be very interested in your input. Dee

I have a little on Peter, have been concentrating on David and starting on John, these are brothers to Peter. I don't have an exact birthdate for any of the brothers or birthplace, it is thought that Peter was born about 1770 in Md. and that he and John are older than David. I have documentation, from a Nicholas Carpenter stating that he is 3 years older than Peter, but haven't been able to find Nicholas Carpenter, as of yet. Peter had ten children, David had 9 children I descend from A.E. Wolfe Davids 9th child. the real mystery here is where is David, Peter and John from before WV? Who was Davids wife? Is William Sommerville related to the Sommervilles you are talking about. Adam Hickman, wife Margaret Adams Hickman and family lived in Harrison county, Va. Here is what a Hickman researcher sent me on them. Adam Hickman b. ca 1741 took up land in Hooppole Run, Harrison county, Va/WVA. He came to the U.S. from Holland but was probably of German descent. He first came to Baltimore. He was of small stature and a soldier in the Revolution,he enlisted 1775 Captain Nagle's Army. He lived to be very old and never seemed to be feeble. He had a straight posture. He was a farmer and is buried along with his wife (Margaret Adams) on land now owned by John Raikes just opposite the Willow Beach lands, back on a hill a few hundred feet from where two persimmon trees were or are standing. His family consisted of Catherine wife of Patrick Louchery (Loughry) Adam Hickman, Jr.b Germany m.Mercy Pickering George Hickman Mary Sommerville wife of William Sommerville Iredeth (Judith) wife of Samuel Henry (son of Patrick Henry) Margaret Coffman wife of Martin Coffman John Hickman Abraham Hickman In the book WVA Estate Settlements, p 119 there is an entry for Adam Hickman whose will dated Aug. 7, 1826. Devisees: Margaret-wife: daughters Catherine Lochery, Mary Sommerville, Judith Henry, Margaret Coffman, sons Adam, John, and Abraham. I was told that a copy of the will can be obtained at the Harrison co. courthouse. I am related through Catherine Lochery. ----- Original Message -----
