There is another Davis book: William Davis Family, "A short sketch of the ancestry of William Davis and the records of his lineage and a brother, Samuel Davis" by Lillian Virginia (Ludwig) Davis, wife of Harold Davis, his grandson published in 1972 by her printed by Commercial Press, Stephens City, VA My co-worker had this book and I borrowed it a few years ago to look for any of my family names. I am not related to any Davis's (that I can find). I copied just a few pages so I will give only the information that I have... John R. Davis died 1859 born about 1783 buried in the Old Dunlap Graveyard near Lehew, WV. John and wife (unknown) was the father of Samuel, Susan, and William Davis. They settled in Dillons Run, VA, now WV. Samuel Davis born 5/19/1811 married Maria Switzer, later changed to Swisher. They had twelve children. (*I do not have their children's names on my copies)but the book says some of his children are listed at the end of the book. Susan Davis born Sept.,1812 married William McCoy and lived near Winchester, VA. It says that Susan lived to be 105 years old! Their children were Hugh, William, Ellen McCoy who married a Anderson. William Davis -The book lists his decendants. Please see the book for any other information. Please note - I do not know if you can find or even buy this book. I just borrowed it from my co-worker a few years ago. The above information is all that I have. I went through the book and looked for any of my ancesters names and made only a few copies of pages that have the names that I need. Hope this helps!
