    3. Donna: You wrote a message awhile back on John and Susannah Wilson. There must be two families of John and Susannah Wilson. My husband's 3x great grandparents John and Susannah, didn't go to Tennesee from what I can determine. (or Did your John and Susannah come back to Hardy County?) John died in Hardy County in 1847. I thought our Susannah's maiden name was Couchman. (I will have to look at my files again). Your John was born ca 1761. If it is the same John, he would have been 86 when he died. After John's death, she married his brother, Cranmore Wilson. Those of us researching this family has decided that John's father was Henry Wilson who shows up in the records of Hardy County in the 1770's. Henry's will shows sons: John and Cranmore. I haven't been able to get Henry back further. His wife was Martha, according to his will. There are 4 listings for a marriage of Henry Wilson and a Martha Stewart in the IGI - in the Pennsylvania area but I have never had time to pursue these. Someone else had the John and Susannah family that went to Tennessee. Was that you, Sue Dietz? Wilson is such a common name as is John. I also run into a John Wilson problem with my husband's great-grandfather and his Civil War service. They have his birthdate wrong it appears because everything else including an article from Elkins is our John. I will be interested to see what you have. Sue Wilson
