Did Hardy county ever reside in VA? Or was it created after the split? I need to know where to look for records from the early 1800's. All of the records found in John Davis trunk were from Hardy Co. He married there also, so I am assuming he was from there as was his wife. Rose

My Parker family ties into the Davis line so check Hardy County, WV. check both records, first, WV got its statehood in 1863, so anything prior was Virginia, my suggestions look both places.
