    3. Rose, Hardy County was created from Hampshire County in VA in 1785. West VA became a state in 1863. I don't know if both VA and WV have Hardy County records. Anyone out there have definitive answer? Shelia (Burch, Tharp, Bargerhoff)

    3. I have been looking for Weese, Wease, Weis, Wise records from Hardy County and so far have found them in Frederick, Hampshire. and Hardy Counties. I plan next to check in Rockingham, Augusta and possibly Highland. You might consider all of these counties. Mary > Rose, > > Hardy County was created from Hampshire County in VA in 1785.
