    3. I am looking for information regarding the migration from Virginia to Ohio. My ancester, Benjamin Stover and his wife Sarah Chilcutt moved from Hardy Co. Virginia, now W. Virginia, to Fairfield, then Licking County Ohio around 1810. His son, my direct ancestor, George W. Stover married Elizabeth Green in Licking County. They were all strong members of the United Brethren Church. George being one of the primary founders in 1856, of Berlin Chapel later called Peachblow UB Church in the Alumcreek Circuit, Sandusky Ohio Conference. Later the Scioto and SE Ohio Conferences. He was Class Leader of that church and had License to exhort the Gospel. I have several records and documents from the church which is still open as a United Methodist Church. They recently celebrated their 150th Anniversary. I am searching for information on both the Church history and personal family history in the span between 1750 & 1850. Other names associated with the church & family are Houser, Ault, Good, Rhodes, Emswiler. Thanks, Gary Collins

    3. Hello - Some years ago, Robert Green compiled the 'The Green Tree' a genealogy of the Green family in Licking Co., OH. I have a copy. Your Elizabeth may be in the book, there are several listed, but no Stover's. 3. Gary, An excellent resource for the historical background of the United Brethren Church in Virginia and West Virginia can be found at the Shenandoah University Library at Winchester, Virginia. 3. At last a question that I know something about. They raised cattle and needed more room than was availabe around Morefield.. As I understand it, in Ohio, the first settlers from Hardy County went to Ross County (Chillicothe), and later arrivals went on to Pickaway, Licking, Fairfield, and Fayette Counties. I have copied several pages from The Hardy County History that discusses this and put the pages in a pdf file at http://home.columbus.rr.com/renicks/HardyCountyHistory.pdf You will need to use magnify to read the pages as the pages are actually pictures. ----- Original Message ----- From: "1930Sue Dietz" <mandsdietz@hotmail.com> To: <wvhardy@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 30, 2006 12:21 PM Subject: Re: [WVHARDY] United Brethren Church & Stover Family > wish i knew the reason for the migration from hardy and northern/western > virginia to licking co. > > anyone got ideas? s > > >>From: "Gary Collins" <gcollin2@columbus.rr.com> >>Reply-To: wvhardy@rootsweb.com >>To: <WVHARDY@rootsweb.com> >>Subject: [WVHARDY] United Brethren Church & Stover Family >>Date: Sat, 30 Sep 2006 10:01:40 -0400 >> >>I am looking for information regarding the migration from Virginia to >>Ohio. >> My ancester, Benjamin Stover and his wife Sarah Chilcutt moved from >> Hardy >>Co.
