Here's an address for a picture of the Glendale Normal School at Bean Settlement. Hardy County http://www.wvculture.org/HISTORY/education/images/hardy/hardy002.jpg I have a photo of a monument--apparently in the Asbury Church Cemetery, Bean Settlement, where James Elosser is buried. On the monument: "Erected by the Glendale Association In Memory of James E. Elosser 1865-1926, Founder of Glendale Normal 1898-1925" On the back of the photo is written "Ed Elosser conducted a private Normal School in the Bean Settlement." Dr. Robert Hayward of Stone Mountain, Ga., sent me genealogical information on the Elosser family that includes this note about:James Edward Elosser: "According to Paul Elosser, he was known to keep boarders who went to a normal school nearby." J. E. Elosser was the son of John Christopher Elosser (ca. 1822-1878) and Amanda Funkhouser (1833-1897).
