    3. Hampshire and Auguata Counties were never the same---they were both formed in the same year (1738 I think), but it was a few years before the County Courts were organized. Frederick County Court began to function in about 1742. Augusta was never "broken" from the Northern Neck Grant because it was never a part of the grant.
