    3. Shenandoah (originally Dunmore County) was never a part of Hampshire or Hardy County---so no Mathias or Lost City people are going to show up in Shenandoah County. In 1805, Shenandoah County was already formed, so any records you need to look at would be there. Shenandoah County was originally Dunmore County and was formed around 1770 (changed from Dunmore to Shenandoah because of Lord Dunmore's actions at the beginnings of the Am. Revolution[he was governor at the time]) from Augusta County.
