Hey everyone...still trying to get information about my ggf, Thomas J. Mattingly.(born in Morefield in 1827 and moved to the district (DC) at age 6)...trying another angle...since he wasn't in the 1820 and 1830 Census for Hardy Co....tax list enumerated in a six year period...1827-1833...would there have been any? Also, as I'm assuming his family would have been Catholic, would anyone know if there is an old Catholic Church in the area that may have been in existence back in 1827? Would anyone on the list have any suggestions as to what records could possibly turn up clues in a 6-10 year time frame...say between 1825-1835? Another, wild shot...does anyone have knowledge of printers or any printing business in Morefield? Well, I'm up against a brick wall and will try any suggestions...Thanks so very much, Elizabeth
