I have a Judy LEWIS who married Isaac CLIFFORD in 1796 in Hardy County. According to deed records, by 1830 Isaac Clifford had built a sawmill on land he had received from John PARKER. Isaac died in 1831. At least one of his sons, Jacob Clifford, remained for a while in Hardy County. My great-great grandfather, William Henry Clifford, Sr. (1835 - 1881), worked at the MULLIN Hotel in Moorefield in 1850. He moved to OH by 1859. Some of Isaac Clifford's other descendants moved to PA. His widow, Judy/Julia (Lewis) Clifford, lived to be over 100 years old. Rose [email protected]
