DEATH OF JOHN W. MOYER John William Moyer, died at 10:30 o'clock: last night at his home two miles northwest of Millville, of a heart attack. He had been ailing all this winter. Mr. Moyer was 68 years old. He was born October 4, 1867, in Rockingham County, Va. He was the son of Levi D, and Susan Moyer, both of Virginia, In 1887 he was married to Sarah Strawderman, daughter of Jefferson Strawderman, of Hardy County, Va. In 1892 he and his wife and th-ree children moved to Ray County , Mo. to make their home. Mr.Moyer is survived by his wife, four sons, William S. Moyer and J.L. Moyer, of the Millville country; I.S. Moyer, Hutchinson, Kans., and Virgil J. Moyer, of Hardin; two daughters, Mrs. Lulu Haynes, of north of Richmond, Mrs, Rosa Halterman, of Braymer; three brothers, J. B. Moyer, Conway, Tex., Jesse Moyer, Richmond, Samuel Moyer, Hutchinson, Kans., and fourteen grandchildren. Mr. Moyer was a member of the Brethren Church, Funeral ser-vices will be held at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Millville church, conducted by the Rev. Moyer, 62, of the Millville community, died un-expectedly about 10:00 a.m., Friday, as he was enroute to Stet with a neighbor, W.A. Pulliam, who had asked him previously if he would like to accompany him to get some feed. They had trav-eled only about a mile when Mr. Moyer succumbed. Although he was a victim of a severe heart ailment a number of years, death was unexpected as he had done a few light chores about his home that morning and then told Mrs. Moyer he would go to Millville and visit with "the boys" a while. In his con-versation with one of the men at the village he told of his contemplation to cultivate his soybeans that afternoon. Mr. Moyer was the husband of the Millville correspondent for The Herald-Conservator. He was born Oct. 6, 1903, near Millville, the son of John W. Moyer of Rockingham County Virginia, and Sarah (Strawderman) Moyer of Hardy County, West Virginia, He had lived in Ray Co. most of his lifetime, except for 15 years in Lafayette County when he was associated with the Lexington Laundry. Ho taught rural schools in Ray County for 15 years. He was married to Charlene Bryant of Richmond on Nov. 23, 1929, and she survives at the home, Other survivors include one brother, W. S. Moyer of Millville, two sisters, Mrs. Ben Haynes of Richmond and Mrs. D.A. Halterman of Braymer; one aunt and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Mill-ville Methodist church of which Mr. Moyer was a member. The Rev. C.A. Neighbors officiating. Interment was in Sunny Slope cemetery at Richmond. Pallbearers were Roy Dreves, Charles Renfro, John Wall, Her-bert Barnett, Curtis Pulliam and W.A. Pulliam, Mr. Moyer was a participating member of the Millville Methodist church for 43 years, always interested in the pro-motion of its spiritual welfare, ---6-3-1966-.
