Alexander Scott came to the South Branch of the Potomac about 1749. He was accompanied by his sons John , James, Benjamin , Adonijah, David, and daughters Sarah (married Jonathan Arnold), Rachel (married John Claypoole) and Phoebe(married Irish Billy Cunningham) . It is alleged that the family migrated from New Jersey to the South Branch. Can anyone verify or add to the history of this Scott family ?
