I have the following, taken from a geneology chart at the Moorefield library. 1 Michael Harness sp Elizabeth Jasper 2 Peter Harness sp Barbara Devries 3 Michael Harness (Jan 1700 - 3 Mar 1783) born in York County, Pa. His will was probated 8 Mar 1785 sp Elizabeth Tepebo (Jephebe/Westfall) (c 1706) 4 John Harness (1725) 4 Elizabeth Harness 4 Jacob Harness (died in infancy) 4 Barbara (Rebecca) Harness 4 Conrad Harness 4 Adam Harness 4 Leonard Harness 4 George Harness Sr. (2 January 1739 or 40 - 7 Apr 1823) born Hardy Co. W. Va. sp Elizabeth Ann Yoakum (c 1743 - 2 Apr 1815) both are buried at Olivet Cemetery, east of Moorefield 5 George Harness Jr sp Barbara See 5 Pamela Harness sp Adam Casper (or Carper) 5 Elizabeth Harness sp Joseph Hutton 5 Dorothy Harness (c 1783 - 5 Dec 1820) sp George Renick ( 7 Sept 1776 - 15 Sept 1863) (married 27 Aug 1802) both are buried in Grandview Cemetery, Chillicothe, OH 5 Adam Harness sp Eunice Harness 5 Martha (Patsy) sp Isaac Darst 4 Michael Harness Jr. 4 Peter Harness 4 Jacob Harness I think the Dorothy you have is a 4 using the above numbering, but she was not shown on the chart I saw. So my 3g-grandmother Dorothy would be a niece of the Dorothy who married Samuel Hornbeck. I'd be interested also in knowing more about the beliefs of the Dunkards. Were these organized churches? Does anyone know the names of the Dunkard churches in Hardy County - probably in the Petersburg area? My ancestor, Henry Lowderman (Louderman) was a Dunkard. He left Hardy County in early 1800s and settled in Fayette County, Ohio. My family ancestors on my paternal grandmother's side were Dunkards. The ones I am familiar with were in early PA and one of my great grandfathers in the mid to late 1700's was instrumental in building of one Brethren church building that is still standing today in Berks County, PA. His name was Martin Gaby (Gauby). My family of Brethren, which included the Fiant (Fiandt) line migrated to Ohio and on to Indiana. I have a Bargerhuff (Bargerhoff) family that went from VA into Indiana in the early 1800's. Has anyone seen that name? Thanks, Shelia Michael sheliamichael@tularosa.net

Thank you so much Barb, some good sites. They are much like the Mennonites. Rose
This is the Yoakum, Yoakam, Yokum informatin in my book, Hope it helps someone. Absolom Yoakam page 233 of Davis book: In 1834, some of the Shinaberry and Yoakum families migrated from Knox county Oh to Jackson township in Allen Co, Ohio. John Shinaberry jr.,and Soloman Yoakam bought land in section 4 in 1834 and 1835, Michael Yoakam bought in section 13, and Absalom Yoakam came in 1836.JOhn Davis arrived in 1835 looking for land to buy. Whitefield Yoakam page 238 of Davis book: The death dates of John Davis and Rebecca are validated by a note attached to the mortgage deed dated Feb 13th, 1854, as described in Charles Davis's history, which reads: West Cairo, Allen County, Ohio May the 4th 1881. To all whom it may concern this is to certify that I officiated at the funeral of Elder John Davis who died Oct 8th, 1856, also the funeral of his widow Mrs Rebecca Davis who died on the 19th of August, 1877 both late of Jackson township, Allen Co, Ohio. signed Elder Michael Martz I certify the above statement to be correct (signed) Lewis Hufman and Michael Yoakam. I certify the above to be a correct record (signed) Whitefield Yoakam. I certify above correct (signed) G.W. Swany. page 237 Davis Book: Among John's records the is an "article of Agreemant" dated Nov 25, 1845, made by and between Hannah, William and John Shinaberry of Allen County. As the widow of John Shinaberry, Hannah agreed to let William and John have the sole use of her undivided interest on the home place on which the family now resides, as long as they see fit to occupy it." They agreed to pay Hannah $15.00 dollars a year, paid in produce raised on the farm at the market price. Also there is a receipt that states, "January 18, 1846, received 14.95 of the estate of John Shinaberry for safe keeping." This was signed by Michael Yoakam and John Davis. Page 142 of Davis book: The little album included this statement: Ephriam Davis and Drusilla Shinabery was married Nov 21, A.D. 1844. This marriage was also recorded in Allen County Ohio. Their license was issued on by request of John Davis, and the marriage was solemnized by Edward Hartshorn J.P. (filed 10 January 1845 in Allen County). The Album stated: "Drusilla Shinabery was born November the 28th, one thousand and eight hundred and twenty five.." She was the daughter of John Shinabery jr.(born 28 of February 1796 in Virginia), and Ruth Yoakum, (married 23 May 1816 in Knox County Ohio.) Page 161 of Davis book: Leah and John Clarks son James married Millie J. Yokum in Allen County on 6th of Dec 1866. Milie died 1 Dec 1870 at age 23 years 8 months 18 days, and is buried at the West Point cemetery, Jackson Township, Allen County. Their two sons were shown in the 1870 Jackson township census as John W/ age 2, and Emmett E. age 1 month. This book is "Days of our Davis" by Louise Moore Burt. it was published in 1994 by Family History Publishers, 845 South Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, 84010.
These are the principal names that you would find in our ancestry: Davis, Sanders, Huggins, Lively, Lee, Stone, Huie, Pierce etc. Chances are slim that we are of the same lineage, but thought I should at least inquire! Thank you so much!!!! Take care & God Bless. Clara
