    1. Re: [WVHARDY] 2 Elizabeth Mumberts
    2. It looks like one married Jacob Wise in 1819 The other married Philip P Yoakum as his second wife in 1838. By 1854 Philip has died and Elizabeth is apparently giving up her rights to land of Philip Yoakum and marries Jacob Dietrick as his third wife.

    3. In reply to an inquiry about Thomas Bean and Sarah Hill, a citation was given from Strunk's Hampshire and Hardy Counties, WVa Abstracts which refers to Thomas Bean and wife Mary Bean, not Sarah. > In my book Hampshire and Hardy Counties, WVa Abstracts > on page 158 > Hardy Co Deed Book Vol 4 for 1795-1800 > 301 10 Jan 1798, THOMAS BEAN and wife Mary Bean to Bennet Bean, 400 acres for L50.10 part of a 713 acre tract. This Thomas Bean was a son of Robert (d. 1791) and Margaret. According to Josephine Bean Wilson, The Bean Family: Hardy County, Virginia, Line (Athens, Ohio: 1917) p. 5, "Thomas Bean, born about 1755, moved to Hardy County about 1795, where he died. He married Mary Gwynne there." They had 11 children, nine of whom moved to Athens County, Ohio.

    3. my family Wetzel's migrated to Greene county Tn for land grants. The Hales also . Jeff there are still several families of Carr's in this area . I believe the Wetzel's and Carr's migrated to this area 1850-1860- from the Shenandoah Valley of VA. Remember Wva was not a state at this time. The Whetsel's-Wetzel's-Whetzel's and Carr's married into each other families late 1700-early 1800's. Go to Google type in JESSIE WETZEL for more info if you choose. Whetsel's and Car's also went to Texas . It is rumored that the Whetsel's that left for Texas was drinking up all the profits from the family business on Bays Mtn. in Kingsport ,TN. It was also said they like to take care of other peoples horses and sell them for their cost incurred in brining them back to good health. (This is of course a family joke) I hope!!! 3. Does anyone have any info on Adam, John and Jacob Weese? They seem to have taken part in Claypole's Rebellion but moved to NC ca 1790+. Adam was on a road list at the Burke/Lincoln Co border in 1796 but was in Buncombe Co by 1800 in that part which became Henderson Co in 1838. Adam died about 1819. John (my ancestor) was on the 1810 Buncombe Co census and died between 1820-1830. Jacob did not stay long in NC but moved to Randolph Co, WV where he died in 1826. ANY information greatly appreciated. Mary in North Carolina

    2. http://www.historichampshire.org/cems/rio.htm At the above url you will notice there are a few Davis' buried in the Rio, WV cemetery. This cemetary is located in Hampshire County, previously Frederick County during the Civil War (if I not mistaken). Just thought you might be interested? Linda (Slater) Barnes
