Will be happy to send you what I have on the Burch family. Please send me your e-mail address as I don't want to clutter up Hardy County website for those who aren't interested. Thanks, Shelia
Rebecca, thanks for the Ezekiel Burch information. I believe him to be brother of my gggrandfather, Covington Burch so I would really appreciate having the earlier lineage information that your father-in-law has. And you can just send it to my e-mail direct if you like. It is sheliamichael@tularosa.net Thanks very much, Shelia
Oops, sorry. Here's what I have -- from my Father-in-law's scratchy notes. :) Ezekiel Burch died May 25 1853, married to Lavinia Burch (she later married Robert Oats.) Ezekiel T burch 1852 (brothers Samuel M and Robert L) married "Emma" (Emily Jane Bean Burch) sons: Ezekiel G. F. Burch born July 22, 1887 in Hardy County Samuel Cleland Burch (6 Jul 1893) Angus H. Burch (28 Oct 1881) then there's a line (not sure what that means) and underneath it says Robert L -- Mary M Son Jno. E. C. Burch 30 Sept 1887 -- married Grace Wilkins Son Fabius Burch 4 Oct. 1925 There's more that takes us back from Ezekiel to the family that came from England, but I don't have a copy of that. It's at his house in FL. If you're interested, I'll ask him to bring it with him when he comes to visit next month, scan it and send it your way. I hope this helps! It's kind of confusing to me, but hopefully it will make sense to you. On 10/17/06, Shelia Michael <sheliamichael@tularosa.net> wrote: > > Reminder, as you mentioned. In a family history of one of my lines that were in PA my however many great grandfathers said it was getting crowded and he wanted land for his sons. He had to build a cordiroy road where they settled in Ohio. Wish I had know one of my ancestors built a cordiroy road when I was learning about them in school.
