Mrs Laura Agnes Hobbs, 87, of the Washington School Rd., New Cumberland RD, died Thursday at 9:26 p.m. at City Hospital, where she had been a patient for 11 days. Mrs. Hobbs had been ill nearly four years. Born Oct. 28, 1880, in Hancock County, she was a daughter of the late William McSwegin and Agnes Stewart McSwegin. She had resided in Hancock County her lifetime. Mrs. Hobbs was a member of the Chester Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Roberta) Six of New Cumberland RD; a son, Ray R. Hobbs of Alliance; two sisters, Mrs. Louella Geer of Ravenna and Mrs. Ethel Boyd of Minerva; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Arner Funeral Chapel, Chester, with the Rev. Daniel Davis officiating. Burial arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight, Saturday and Sunday until the time of service. Note: a second obit states the same and in addition: The Rev. Daniel Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Pughtown. Mrs. Hobbs was a widow of Joseph Hobbs, who died in 1950. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and Sunday until the time of service.
