Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Nessly Chapel, near Newell, for the Rev. T. Homer Smith, 81, of Avon Park, Fla., who died Friday in Florida. Rev. Smith served as pastor at the Newell United Methodist Church and the Nessly Chapel Church from 1934-1939. He also once occupied the pulpit at the Pennsylvania Ave. United Methodist Chruch in East Liverpool. His wife, Mrs. Edith Mackey Smith, died in 1971. He is survived by three sons, Dr. Myern Smith and the Rev. Theron Smith, both of Columbus, and Army Maj. Dr. M. Smith, who is stationed in Okinawa, and a sister, Mrs. Marideth Mackey of Avon Park. Paul Brookes of Chester and the Rev. Ray Williams, pastor of the Newell United Methodist Church and the Nessly Chapel will officiate at the Tuesday services. The body will lie in state at the church from noon up to the time of service. Burial will be in the Nessly Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chester Chapel of the Arner Home for Funerals today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
