His daughter Martha Jane Stewart married William Wallace Edie, and their son was my great- grandfather. Sometime around 1858 John and his family left Hancock and went to Missouri -- I've found them in the 1850 census for Hancock, and then later in the 1880 census for Concord Township, Clinton County, MO. The 1850 census data looks like this: Stewart, John 26m cooper Pa Jane 27f Pa William H. 1m Va The 1880 census data looks like this: 187-187 STEWART, John 59 MW Cooper PA PA MD Jane 55 FW wife VA Ireland Ireland John M. 25 MW son Cooper VA PA VA Maggie 23 FW dau. VA PA VA Alice 21 FW dau. IL PA VA Albert 21 MW son Cooper IL PA VA Hadasah 16 FW dau. IL PA VA The list of Hancock Co. births for 1854 (in the Hancock GenWeb archive) has Martha Jane's birth: Martha Jane 2-22-1854 John & Jane Stewart Kings Creek That's all I know about them so far.
