I know King's Creek was once part of Hancock County.>> Hi Laurie, Although there was an area of (now) Hancock County, WV that was an important early settlement, and was referred to as King's Creek, the King's Creek Cemetery that you're speaking of is in Beaver County, PA., but was at one time considered Washington County, PA. (This area is so confusing) The old King's Creek Cemetery is only a few miles (upstream) and across the PA border from the King's Creek area in Holliday's Cove, or Hancock County. Prior to settlement in this area, King's Creek was referred to as "Indian Creek" and you can still find it called that on some of the very early deeds and wills. Jennet Cameron died July 11, 1842 and was born in 1751. Jennet Cameron married George Johnston, according to a book called "Washington County Early Marriage Index", there is no date offered, so I don't know if it's your Jennet or a daughter of hers. It references the marriage from "The Washington Observer", a Washington County newspaper. That's all the information I can find on it. As to death certificates, I'm not certain of that. I don't think it was required of local governments until a little closer to 1850 to keep records of death, but this would be something to check with Beaver County, PA. You can reach their web site, (which should have their phone and or address), through the Hancock or Brooke Counties web pages by clicking on "Neighboring Counties". (You can reach Washington County, PA from there also.) Good luck with your research Laurie. Best regards, Dale Patterson Hancock Co. WV - http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvhancoc/ Brooke Co.
