Hello, Just had to post a note on a Sarah Greer who was in the area too- maybe chance kin of your John Greer??? Sarah was mentioned in the Beers history of Washington Co PA The article says Sarah Greer of Harlem Springs Carroll Co OH married Joseph Ralston s/o Joseph (& Jane ?), of Kings Creek, Brooke Co VA, We think they married abt 1813-1814 or so? but can't find marriages record* Sarah was listed as 65 yrs old in the 1850 census b. in MD living with her son Jeremiah Ralstons & wife Jane Brice. We don't find a Sarah of age 75 in the 1860 census so she had died between those yrs & buried at the Three Springs Cemetery with Joseph Ralston who d. in 1843, his first wife Beers listed as Ann McCready d/o Joseph McCready of Hookstown, Beaver Co PA (but at death of Joseph McCready his will was listed in Washington Co PA..) We can't find Ann & Joseph's marriage record either?? ** Any info on the early Greers in the area would be treasured. What chuch did your Greer's belong to? Thanks for sharing your post.
