MILLER lived near Newark at the time of his death, which was caused by paralysis. He was born in Hancock County, West Virginia, November 13, 1818. When quite young he united with the Presbyterian Church in which he was a member until his removal to Greene County, Indiana, when he united with the Congregational Church at Solsberry about the year 1855. After his second marriage he united with the M. E. Church at Newark, and was a devoted member until he was called to the church triumphant May 21, 1904. His first marriage was to Rachel APPLEGATE, September 25, 1838 in West Virginia. To this union were born three children, two sons and one daughterJohn A. MILLER, living near Newark; Harriet MILLER, deceased; and Sylvester D. MILLER, living near Lone Tree. His first wife, Rachel, died August 4, 1880. He was again married to Mrs. Mary WILSON (CALLAND), of Ohio, August 4, 1881, who with two sons and one stepson, Robert WILSON, live to mourn his loss. The deceased was well known and highly respected in this county.
