(For Kim, in particular): The masthead on the Geer Family Association newsletter includes the notation :"Gear, Geer, Geere, Gere, etc." I don't know how "loose" people want to be about variations that being with "Gr". There are 3 indexes in this (information-packed!!) old book. I copied only INDEX III. It is prefaced with this remark: "In this Index will be found: (1) The names of all Geers who are not lineal descendants of GEORGE or THOMAS GEER. (2) The names of all Geers who, although lineal descendants of GEORGE or THOMAS, have not been included in the two preceding indexes. (3) Other surnames occurring in this book." I find it very interesting that there is not a single "Greer" in this index. And, there are no Ralstons listed. Incidentally, the Geers of interest to me ARE in this book, and they are well represented in Hancock Co. WV and environs. Judith Mercer Tauber-Lovik Los Altos, CA
