Hello Anita, So glad I posted a message. I have a William S. Purgit who married Areliah Statton. In other records her name is Elmira, but all are same person as children are the same. Dalton, William, Isaacc, Nashville, Martha(Kate), James, Edgar, and Minnie Bell. William was a postmaster in Kayser, New Creek, in 1865 and one of the enumerators for veterines in 1890. Kate was postmistress of Purgittsville for a long time. Arliah had a brother who was a minister who lived out west.. This is also, part of my line.
