October 16, 1880, at the residence of Lester Francis, of Newport township, Mrs. Anna Francis in the 85th of her age. She was a native of Hampshire County W.V but had lived in this township for about 60 years. She was a faithful mother and leaves a large line of descendants. Note: Anna Pritchett m. Edward Francis c. 1814. She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (?) Pritchett. The family moved to Tyler Co. WV and then to Washington Co.
