Martin 1874 Children Ina Montresa Rachel married a Giddings Jesse Melvin b. 1876 married a Pownell at least the first time ( my grandfather) Clarence Earl married Pearson and Ross Walter E. died young Francis I. married Sherman Smith George T. married Allender/Aldrich James Clifford married Pentrup Martha Gertrude married Wintrow Jesse Melvin is my missing grandfather. He married Sarah Elizabeth Pownell 1896 Children Rachel Bertha Goldie Laura b. 1904 Susie Hathern Dortha L. Thelma M. (this is my Mom) She wasn't born when he left. My last know place for Jesse is Columbus, Ohio approx. 1908. Bertha is my Sarah Elizabeth's mother and Edward W. Martin was the father. They divorced and she married a John W. Reed. She left with Sarah Elizabeth approx 1935. Laura was in a children's home in Columbus and I haven't found her. I assumed Rachel, Bertha, Goldie and Laura were put in the same children's home but I don't know that. I have other info, willing to share and would love to find where Jesse is buried, if there was another family. Would like to find where Bertha is buried and hope I can find Sarah Elizabeth before she dies. I haven't ever posted something this large or involved. Thanks Thelma Shoemaker Tomlinson
