    3. I am going up to Gaithersburg, MD for a wedding. I will be arriving late Thursday night, with rehearsal and lunch on Friday morning. Wedding is 7:30PM Friday night. I was wondering about the possibility of visiting the Natl Archives for a few hours on Friday, and/or Saturday morning. Does anybody know the hours/procedures, etc? Can anybody suggest alternative libraries? Matt Matt Matt_Combs@juno.com http://members.xoom.com/GenHosting/index.html

    3. www.nara.gov is the website. Research hours on Friday are 9am? to 5pm. Enter thru the back of the National Archives, show your drivers license, and go to Room 400. Probably the most likely source you will use will be the census microfilm from 1790 to 1920. Do go prepared with an idea what years/locations you want to lookup. 3. Matt: If you are in Gaithersburg, the best way to get to the Archives is on the Metro. Park in the Gaithersburg Metro Station Parking Lot, and ride the train into the Mall. There are trains every 10 minutes or so. The parking is free and plentyful.. No tarffic to fight and you save 20+ miles of driving. Check the directory for the transfer to the correct line to get to the Arcuives Station. It is on Pennsylvania Ave. just across from the Archives Building. Even though I drive in from Keyser, when I go to downtoen Washington, this is the way to go. 3. The Archives is on the yellow line. You will be catching the red line in Gaithersburg. You can transfer to the yellow at Metro Center. If you get lost, just ask someone to help. Most Washingtonians are pretty friendly and helpful to strangers to the city. Also, each metro station has an employee at a kiosk. They are helpful as well. -----Original Message----- From: Robert W.
