    3. Hi Jack, and lists (in case anyone else interested) Your welcome. As to the ages of James McBride and Sarah Edwards, I'm guessing around 1740 or so. I know many have him born 1734...but I don't know where that info was obtained. I do have one dau. Sarah who married James Chenowith b.12/16/1768 so I figure she was probably 1 - 5 years (or more) younger than him. That'd put her birth about 1770. Then if you figure her father James McBride would be probably between 20 and 30 years old and mother Sarah Edwards between 18 - 25 years old. Another dau. Hannah married Jonathan Hiatt b.2/13/1781 would place her birth c1786 (going by same inference on Sarah). This brings up another interesting tidbit regarding James McBrides will: May 20,1817; pr. March 15,1818 wife-- Mary 8ch. : 1- Stephen, 2- James, 3- Thomas, 4- Hannah, 5- Elizabeth, 6- Mary Yeats, 7- Eleanor Lyon, 8- Sarah Chenoweth. Grandchildren: Sarah & James W. Hiatt. It appears children are in reverse order to what is normally thought...youngest to oldest by sex instead of oldest to youngest as is usually assumed! I also wonder if Stephen (thier last child) was born 1790, as per census and tax info, if Sarah Edwards McBride may have died between 1790 - 1795 due to childbirth complications. So, best guess based on 1st dau. Sarah being born c1770... James McBride b. c1740-45 and Sarah Edwards b. c1745-50 Children: (based on will and tax/census info) Sarah b. c1770 Eleanor b. c1772 Marjorie b. c1774 Mary b. c1777 Elizabeth b. c1780 Thomas b. c1782 James Jr. b. c1784 (10/31/1776?) Stephen b. c1790 I have 2 books on the Hampshire Co tax lists one 1782-1799 and the other 1800-1814. Got them from genealogy bookstores online. One of them at: http://www.tlc-gen.com/products.htm#VIRGINIA Who do you have for the wife of James Jr?
