I also have McGuire's in early Hampshire co. 1850 census lists (Alarkset/Harkse/Alapske cannot read census handwriting) Mcguire, age 45 living in Hampshire Co. Dist.#24 Eliza. 39 wife Caroline V. 11 yrs Lettitia 9 James W. 6 Rachael 4 Wesley 1 all born in Md. No further record of this family has been found. Caroline V(irginia) probably marries Samuel DUNMIRE. In 1852 a guardian bond is posted in Hampshire Co. Court for Samuel Dunmire after the death of his father,Samuel Dunmire. I am looking for information on either of these names. 1860 census has Samuel Dunmire married to Caroline Virgina McGuire living in E. Huntingdon Twn. Westmoreland Co.,Pa. Wm. McGuire is living withthem. His age matches James W. and Caroline's age matches in both census. Any help, similar names, guesses as to what Alarkset's real name greatly appreciated.
