Kathy, Have you checked the 1910 Census Soundex records of surrounding states for James and/or Mary Jane Lease? Since you have found no death record in WV or MD, it is possible they (or one of them after the death of the other) moved in with one of their adult children elsewhwer. James would not have been in the Federal pension records, not because of his Maryland connection, but because he fought with the Confederacy, and the Federal pension was for only those who fought with the Union.
