    3. The people I've asked about how Sandusky got its name have all replied that they thought it was originally an Indian word. But it appears that it came from the Sadowski family. Is there a final word on this? Gary Radcliffe glradcliffe@aol.com

Afraid its Indian, http://www.lkwdpl.org/buckeye/buck11.htm, and a book I have that was written in 1888 on Ohio, makes ref to a report from 1718 calling the river Sandosquet, the county took its name from the river.
