He was the father of George Lafayette Merritt who married Anna Lee Ritchie and moved to Cumberland, Md. where he was killed in an accident at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. I know Adam lived in Hampshire County. The family has no records of the Merritt family due to a break in the relationship of families after my grandfather's death in 1923. My grandfather was born in 1891, so I would put the birth of his father Adam sometime after 1850 or 1860. Thanks for any help you can give me.
