The original query as to the "Brethren" church should be distinguished from the Methodist Church. The United Brethren were a seperatist group that formed from German linked Dunkards. They were prominent in PA, OHIO, western VA, WV and parts of IN. Merged with another group in the 1940's, they became The Evangelical United Brethren and they, in turn, merged with the Methodists in the 1960's. Thus, the early Methodist history would not have any information on the early Brethren ministers.
