    2. There was a reform school in Pruntytown, Taylor Co., West Virginia during that time period. Don't know if it was the only one in the state or not. My great-great-Uncle & Aunt (William "Tyce" & Annie Newlon Wells) had a farm that bordered the reform school and he used to catch runaways. I believe he also got paid for each one he caught. He was also a Justice of the Peace. I don't know if there are any records available but could find out. Cheryl Jackson Malone

    3. Thanks, Cheryl & Rosemary, for the location. If this were the closest one to Hampshire Co., then I'm sure that is where the boy in question was sent. Now, I'll have to find out if there are any records--I would guess the WV Dept of Corrections (or whatever they're called) would be the best place to inquire. Elaine
