    3. My cousin,Bill Fagley's wife,Evie,or EDFAGLEY@prodigy.net has Coble-Koble's of the 1710 colony to Kobleskil,w Albany,NY, and then south, across country,to the backwoods of Tulpehocken, nw Berks Co,Pa . She sent me xerox's on the colony years ago, but I'm not digging thru my old files for a titile. I guess my original source for learning there was a Tulpehocken ,Pa to S Branch colony was a Michael Harness researcher,on Prodigy genealogy, about 1993. She ,I remember, gave a 1730's date, which I questioned, thinking 1740's more accurate. The colony of Pa relied,in the 1740's on a Tulpehocken German, who had lived among the Indians,as an interpeter. Conad Weiser [sp?] . Remember, when 1st settled, Tulpehocken,Pa did "not" abutt white settlements, nor was it settled from the nearest white settlements of Pa. Thinking Bethel,Pa is about it's location. Pardon my spelling, but it's pre-dawn,and to dark to hunt the correct spelling. Matatawny=Amity= Douglassville ,Pa was settled from people moving up the [sp?] Schulkyl River, which empties in the Delaware at Philadelphia, and by Swedes, who had been on the Delaware, 1638-56. Tulpehocken was settled by 1710 era immigrants from Germany>England> w Albany,NJ, who moved down the [?] Susquahanna River thru the mountians to Tulpehocken. Those 2 white settlements of 1720 wre across Berks Co,Pa from one another, and Matatawny=Amity-\Exteter was the nearest white trading center,as it was. Perkomen was east of the latter a bit,and mostly Germanic. I have faint memory that WM Penn toured the Rhine in Germany,1705+ promoting his colony, and setting off this big migration from the Palatinate section, which showed up very poor,in England soon after. 1727 or 1737 is the time Philadelphia started keeping records of ship loads of Germans arriving,and-or being naturalizied, but [?] 1709 is the Patatine migration.
