Do you know if your Andersons descend from Bartholemew Anderson b. June 6, 1710 in Hopewell, Hunterdon Co., NJ & wife Phoebe who fled in 1735 from Hopewell with his neighbors and cousins John Parke I and Thomas Smith after protesting double payment of their land, arriving in what was then Frederick Co. VA area abt. 1740ish, which later became Hampshire Co, VA then WV? They had children Ann b. 1728 married Daniel Johnson, Joseph b. 1730, Rachel, Hannah, John, Cornelius b 1747 married Anna Redmon, and Abraham b. 1747 married Sarah. I know that Abraham and his family remained in Hampshire Co. dying there in 1805 and he and Sarah had children named Richard, Eliakim, Frances, Rhoda, Sarah, Abraham Jr., Thesby and Abigail. Others in the family went west to Ohio (Cornelius to Circleville) or remained in Hunterdon Co. NJ - Joseph and wife Mary Stockton. I am a descendant of Bartholemew's sister Hannah Anderson who married Richard Phillips in Hopewell, Hunterdon Co., and a descendant of John Parke I & Sarah Smith and have a cousin connection also with Sarah's brother Thomas Smith - so I'm related to all 3 who came to Hampshire Co. from Hunterdon Co. NJ about the same time.
