    1. Re: [WVHAMPSH-L] Obit. Robert SHANHOLTZ

    3. In 1900, there was a Robert H. Shanholtz, age 35, farmer, in the Bloomery District, with wife Martha H. and son Henry C. Bloomery Magisterial Dist. is just north of Capon Bridge, I think. A man of the same name, Robert H., age 54, widowed, was in the 1920 census in Berkeley Co., Gerrardstown Dist., living alone. (Note that Martinsburg is also in Berkeley Co., a few miles NE of Gerrardstown.) So, if this is your man, and if the age in the obit is about right, he would have died around 1935-36. That's a start, anyway <smile>. I wonder if he is in the 1930 census. That would help a little ... Just a guess, since the wording of the obit is imprecise, but the burial was probably at the chapel grounds where the funeral was held (i.e., Union Chapel in Slanesville, which is near North River Mills.) Poor man seems to have been without family at the time of his death. --- D L Truck Sales <dltrucksales@nntc.net> wrote: > Date needed for obituary of: Robert > SHANHOLTZ, aged about 70, formerly of > Martinsburg, Va., but recently living at North > River Mills in this county.
