    3. Glad you mentioned that last paragraph and that Rpbert had family. Do you think the one I sent you was the right guy? If so, he must have remarried (to Ida) after the 1920 census. The son Henry sounds right... I had the same problem once with an obit clipped without the date. Fortunately, the obit included the words "died Fri. March 25." That made it possible to determine, via calendars, the specific year (in a known general time frame) that had a Mar 25 that was a Friday. Unfortunately, I have a lot of other clippings without any such clue. So, please folks, when you clip news items for scrapbooks, include the dateline (page heading) or write the full date on the article, so you don't drive your own descendants crazy trying to figure them out! --- D L Truck Sales <dltrucksales@nntc.net> wrote: > Wilmer & Genie - - Thank you both so very > much, now I know where to look in the Nebraska > Newspapers for more information and how to tie > Robert in with the GILL - SHANE - MCDONALD > families who moved west to the Dawson County, > NE area. > > Genie this is a sad obituary, but he did have > some family nearby, because the last paragraph > is: > He is survived by his widow, formerly > Miss Ida McDONALD, and two sons, Henry > SHANHOLTZ, of Huntington, and John, of > Springfield, Ohio.
